Recently, Gay Bordal needed outdoor furniture to fit into a limited space, at a private home in Vista Las Palmas. Gay Bordal’s interior design vision included a solution for the side yard and outdoor experiences with custom-made teak furniture. What if the best idea would  be to re-name the side yard, ‘the alcove’ and add some super cool furniture?

Gay Bordal has a cool story to share, a whimsical tale about modern teak furniture, outdoor upholstery with dry-fast foam, and designed to be cozy enough to fit 2 people, side by side.

A teak gate was added to frame the outdoor landscape and magnify the alcove’s privacy. We concluded for the dry hot climate, Grade-A Teak is the right choice for outdoor furniture. The teakwood gate design adds a privacy wall and it blocks sound made by outdoor A/C unit noise.

Teak is world wide recognized for its durability and stability, The timber is immense stable, has a high oil content that works as “built-in” natural water repellent and is therefore virtually immune to rotting, fungi and harsh chemicals. Teak is one of the few timbers that can withstand the heat of the desert and will not readily catch fire.
